Techonology

Space Vehicles

Primary 6 designed their own space vehicles which they then built out of construction materials.  They worked co-operatively in groups and had great fun!

Joseph, Fraser and Lewis worked really hard to build a space vehicle using K'nex.

The girls worked really well together.

Tian Qi is working on the design, Abbie is working on the construction and it looks like Caitlyn is supervising 😉

The girls are all very proud of their final creations.

The boys worked really well together, real engineering skills on show 👍.

K'nex was a popular choice with the boys.

P6 Outdoor Learning

Primary 6 Outdoor Learning

Primary 6 learned about the 8-point compass and how to find North by holding the compass correctly.  We learned a rhyme to help us remember the order of the points.  Our favourite rhyme was 'Never Eat Shredded Wheat', this is an example of a mnemonic.

Our activity was to draw the 8-point compass on our playground using chalk.  We completed this by working co-operatively with a partner.
Michael and Joseph are marking out East
Kyle and Lewis are locating North

Here is an example of a completed compass by Maja and Lewis G

STEM Week

STEM Week

As part of our role as educators, we encourage the pupils to experience a wide range of learning to prepare them for the world of work.  Primary 6 engaged in many different Science experiments, using their Technology, Engineering and Mathematics skills also.  Here are some photographs of the young scientists at work both independently and with visiting teachers.
